The Historic Dockyard Chatham has a permanent staff team of approximately 50 people working in four main areas of operations - museum, education & visitor services; estates & maintenance; marketing & communications; and finance & administration.

Between February and October the Trust also employs a seasonal visitor services team of up to 60 people.

Programme Facilitator (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths)
£16,000 per annum
Full-time, until April 2011 in the first instance

This role will involve leading hands-on sessions for school groups and families, managing the ordering of all resource materials and overseeing the upkeep of related equipment (towing tank, model boats, morse signallers, etc).

In order to accommodate the family activities, some weekend working will be required on occasion. Applicants should be educated to A-Level in a Science discipline and some experience of working with young people / in an education environment is desirable.

Education Assistant
£7.00 per hour

Education Assistants support the Education Officers in the delivery of the site's Themed Day programmes. Some teaching or classroom experience is desirable, as delivering taught sessions to school groups is a key component of the role. Themed days are offered througout the year and typically run between 9.30am and 3pm. Education Assistants are employed on a casual, as required basis.
