Sir Ian Garnett has a distinguished Naval career culminating in his role as Chief of Staff at the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe. His association with Chatham dates back to his early years in the Navy when he spent two years living in The Captain’s House in the heart of the area now known as The Historic Dockyard. His father was Captain of the Dockyard and Chief of Staff to Flag Officer Medway at the time.
