Heavy Haulage vehicles will be on show here on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th October as the 19th South of England Scammell Road Run and Rally gets underway. These giants of the highway gather at The Historic Dockyard on the Saturday, where they will be on display for visitors to see. Then at 10.30am on the Sunday morning they leave the dockyard for the annual road-run around Medway before returning to The Historic Dockyard, to be on show for the afternoon. The Scammell Register (a national group of enthusiasts who own or are interested in the great British Scammell Company's range of vehicles and heavy haulage lorries) will attend the rally with their special display vehicle, displaying many photographs from the past.
Costumed guides tell you stories of intrigue, murder and mystery, mixed with romance and adventure as they lead you through the eerie shadows of The Historic Dockyard on one of our Ghost Walks. In the dark, the buildings and cobblestones echo with over 400 years of history and you are left to make up your own mind whether you see or hear anything "ghostly"! (Minimum age 16 years).
Wednesday evenings from 7 October until 16 December 2009 starting at 7pm and 7.30pm, lasting approximately
1½ hours and cost £9.00 per person (includes a glass of mulled wine)
Other nights available on request subject for a minimum of 15 people per booking.
These Ghost Walks are for adults and not suitable for children under 12 years. All children under 16 years must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Places must be pre-booked and pre-paid by calling 01634 823815.

A Ghost Walk suitable for 8-12 year olds. Spooky stories based on mystery, history and adventure told by a costumed guide as they lead you around the Ropery buildings, including one that is reputedly haunted! Ideal for Youth Groups looking for something different or a birthday treat!
Friday evening once a month:
20th February, 20th March and 24th April 2010
Walks take place at 7pm, cost £6.50 per person and last approx 45 minute
Other nights are available on request, subject to a minimum of 10 people per booking.

Stories to send shivers down your spine are back as the Junior and Adult ‘Halloween Special’ Ghost Walks return ! You will be taken on a journey though time with stories from the past being told as you are led through reputedly haunted buildings! A short walk in the dark through the eerie ambient dockyard concludes the tour.
