Residential & Administration - The Domestic Quarter

The residential and administrative areas of the Historic Dockyard are characterised by their softer landscape with trees, lawns and gardens.

The Resident Commissioner and Principal Officers of the dockyard -such as the Master Shipwright lived on site.  At first they worked from their own houses but from the 1750’s purpose built office accommodation was provided on site
