Join one of our experienced guides and discover what life on board a submarine is really like: find out how the emergency escape system works; take a look through the periscopes, see whether you think you could feed the crew of 90 from the vessel's small galley.
HM Submarine Ocelot was the last warship built for the Royal Navy at Chatham Dockyard. An 'O' Class diesel electric submarine, she was launched in 1962 and saw service with Royal Navy throughout the height of the Cold War until she paid off in 1991
Access to HMS Ocelot
Due to the nature of HMS Ocelot's construction (small passageways and hatches) we regret that there is no access on board for people in wheelchairs. All visitors should be aware that visits to the submarine involve steep ladders, small hatches and small spaces. A virtual tour of the submarine is available on the dock-side for visitors who are unable to go onboard.
