Royal Dockyard Library

The Royal Dockyard Library, located above the Museum of the Royal Dockyard was opened by HRH The Prince of Wales in November 2004.

The Royal Dockyard Library With over 12,000 books covering naval, dockyard and general maritime matters, the library also provides access and guidance to the Historic Dockyard’s archive and photographic collections.

The library is for reference only. Visitors conducting personal research are welcome, as are enquiries by letter, e-mail or telephone. Large scale research on behalf of students and researchers cannot be undertaken but advice on sources and research methods is always available

Opening Times
The library is generally open 11am to 4pm Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Telephone 01634 823800 to make an appointment.
