The Historic Dockyard Chatham host’s its second Veterans Day. With 2008 being the 100th Anniversary of the Territorial Army this year’s Veterans Day will take on a special Reserve and Auxiliary Forces flavour.
This special day will feature a commemorative Church Service at 11am, followed at 12 noon by a Veterans Parade led by the Band of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines Portsmouth and a Veterans Re-union Hall. There will also be displays presented by the Regular, Reserve and Cadet branches of the Armed Forces and Ex-Services Charities, as well as all the award-winning attractions of The Historic Dockyard itself. The day will also give you the opportunity to visit the National Destroyer Memorial and the monument that was unveiled by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh in November 2007.
